Award Winning Living at Rainbow Point
Designed by Darren McCutchan Architecture, this award-winning home makes the most of its long, narrow site overlooking Lake Taupō. Positioned to capture expansive views across Three Mile Bay Boat Ramp towards Acacia Bay and the western bays, every aspect of the design has been carefully considered to connect the home with its stunning surroundings while delivering exceptional comfort and performance.
In Response to the Landscape
Positioned on a sloping site within an established Taupō neighbourhood, this bespoke home by Fraser Cameron Architecture transforms a challenging section into a warm, energy-efficient retreat. Every detail has been carefully considered to maximise the panoramic lake outlook, embrace natural light, and create distinct spaces for both everyday living and welcoming extended family.
Light, Privacy & Elevation
Perched on a challenging hillside site, Ewing Grove House is a carefully considered response to both the natural contours of the land and the surrounding neighbourhood. Designed by JT Design and constructed by Haimes Building, the home transforms a narrow, steep section with limited access into a light-filled, contemporary residence that embraces its elevated outlook while maintaining privacy.
The split-level design follows the natural fall of the site, allowing the home to sit comfortably within the landscape while maximising views. Thoughtful architectural detailing, including strategically positioned skylights and a carefully curated lighting design, creates bright, open living spaces without compromising neighbouring properties. The result is a sophisticated family home that balances functionality, privacy and connection to its surroundings.
High on Hilltop
Perched high on Hilltop, this landmark residence by Fraser Cameron Architecture was a technically demanding project. A steeply sloped section, extensive retaining wall engineering, complex stormwater management, and the relocation of the existing dwelling all combined to make for a two-year-plus build that asked everything of the team — rewarded, ultimately, by sweeping uninterrupted views across the lake and a home that could only exist in this exact spot.
